Mastery assignments are highly structured and should involve careful planning of the rules and criteria that govern how students move from topic to topic and what penalties are imposed for incorrect responses. You must set basic requirements for a Mastery assignment, which declare the number of correct answers that the student must obtain in each topic in order to meet the objectives of the test.
To access Mastery policies:
In the Set Policies tab of the Assignment Editor, click the Edit mastery policies link to open the Mastery Policies Editor.
The requirements that you set here are the basic, starting requirements.
If you also include penalties for a certain number of incorrect responses, the system raises the requirements during the course of the test if the student incurs a penalty.
