Assignment Editor Step 2: Select Questions

In the Select Questions tab of the Assignment Editor,  you can:

  1. To create an assignment, select a source test bank from the Select Test Bank drop-down list.

  1. Expand the topic lists and select the questions you want from the list on the left using the check boxes. Click the Add button after selecting a question or complete the selection process and click the Add Selected button. In either case,  individual questions are added to your assignment.

  2. To add a selection of items as a group, select questions using the check boxes. Click Add as Group to include them as a pool of questions within your assignment.

  1. Optional. Change the default  question weighting (one point per question) to match your requirements.  Select to scramble the sequence of question delivery when assignments are created.  Reorder questions within your assignment.  Merge individual selected questions to form new question groups in your assignment. Include annotations along with individual questions in your assignment.

When you have completed these steps, proceed to Step 3: Set Policies.

Question Weighting: Individual Questions and Question Groups

Individual Questions

If you add selected questions to your assignment as individual questions, each one is included in every version of the assignment served to a student, and you control question weighting individually.

Question Groups

Adding questions in question groups provides you with the added option of selecting a group of questions and having the system select from within the questions at random, according to criteria you specify (for example, choosing three of seven questions from the group each time a new assignment is created for a student).  When assigning question weighting for a question group, you control the weighting of each question drawn from the group.

Selecting Questions from any Combination of Question Banks

To build an assignment with multiple question bank sources:

  1. Select one question bank.

  2. Pick the questions you want from it.

  3. Select the second question bank source file and pick questions from it.

Adding Questions from Your Question Bank

To add questions from your question bank (assuming that it does not appear in the lists):

  1. Save your assignment by completing Step 4: Review & Finish.

  2. Click Home to return to the Instructor Main Menu.

  3. Use the Question Bank Editor to upload and install your question bank for this class.

  4. Return to the Assignment Editor to edit your assignment and select items from your new question bank for the assignment.
