When working in the Question Bank Editor, the system does not save the changes to the class Web site until you click Save/Install from the Question Bank Editor main menu. After you install a question bank, it is available for assignment creation.
If you are reinstalling an updated version of a question bank, you can:
Replace the previous version by using the same name. Assignments that reference the previous version are automatically edited to use the updated questions from the new version.
Use a new name. Assignments that reference the previous version continue to use the previous versions of the questions. To use the new questions, create new assignments or edit old assignments to reference the updated question bank.
To install a question bank that has been:
Opened and edited
Uploaded, or
Created
If necessary, return to the Question Bank Editor main menu by clicking the Back to Main button.
Click Save/Install Bank.
Enter a question bank name. (If this is an updated version of an existing question bank, consider the implications outlined above.)
If you are replacing a previously installed question bank, the system displays the message:
A testbank with the title "TESTBANK TITLE", already exists. If you save your testbank under this title, any assignments that you have set up to use the testbank that's currently saved with this title will use the new testbank from now on. However records of assignments that students have already taken, will continue to show the questions from the old testbank. Click "OK" to continue, or "Cancel" to pick a different title.
To replace the superseded question bank with your new version, click Ok.
Note: Saving a modified Question Bank with the same name as an inherited Question Bank from a shared parent class severs the relationship with the parent class version of the question bank. As a result, you will not automatically receive any changes made to the parent class version of the Question Bank. Click here for more information.
The system reports "Installation successfully completed".
